FASHION EXCHANGE – WHERE EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN Celebrities do it, sisters have always done it, and now females in Ballarat can do it too! Fashion Exchange is an exciting new concept that allows fashion conscious women of all ages to swap their wardrobe by exchanging their latest fashion outfits and accessories for someone else’s. The first fashion exchange event will be held at the Ballarat Mining Exchange on July 1 – so girls start cleaning out your wardrobes!! Fashion Exchange events are big business in the United States with celebrities holding their own events. The concept is now very much in vogue in Australia as women everywhere realize the benefit of being able to update their wardrobe via ‘the sisterhood’. Fashion Exchange has been established by Christine Browning who has combined her love of fashion and event management to develop an evening filled with everything a woman loves -champagne, shopping, and socialising. ‘I have based my events on what women have told me they want, a night where they can share a drink with their friends, and come away with a new wardrobe, at a token price,” said Christine. “Women are also looking for honest advice on what to wear and what not to wear from fashion advisors along the lines of Trinny and Susannah, so that’s the kind of atmosphere we will be providing, with hairdressers, make-up artists and stylists offering free advice on the night.” Here’s how The Fashion Exchange works. Women go online to purchase a ticket at www.fashionexchange.com.au. They then need to raid their wardrobes and choose up to 5 fashion items or accessories they no longer want to wear. These items will be exchanged on the night for up to 5 tokens which they use as money to purchase their new fashion items. Fashion Exchange will incorporate a number of feature events catering specifically for Mums and Bubs (swap your maternity wear and baby’s clothes), Spring Carnival race wear, Debutante, cocktail and after 5 wear.
